Dear Alumni and Friends:

Winthrop alumni have chosen Isaiah “Reggie” Venning ’95, ‘00 to serve as the alumni representative for the Winthrop University Board of Trustees. His six-year term will begin on July 1. Thank you to each of the candidates for your time and dedication to the election, and thanks to all the Winthrop alumni who voted!

Athletics Adidas Flash Sale

Winthrop Athletics is offering an exclusive Adidas online store to Eagle fans! The online store will be available through April 9, so be sure to purchase your Winthrop gear before then.

Department of Political Science Student Awards Ceremony & Alumni Reception

The Department of Political Science (PLSC) annual PLSC Student Awards Ceremony and Alumni Reception will be held on Friday, April 13 on the 3rd floor of the DiGiorgio Campus Center. The vast span of Winthrop PLSC will be celebrated, including Model UN, the Social & Behavioral Research Lab (SBRL) and Winthrop Poll, and the John C. West Forum on Politics and Policy. The Spring Awards Ceremony and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society Induction will recognize current student accomplishments. Register online by Friday, April 6. Eagle Club Scholarship Auction

The annual Eagle Club Scholarship Auction will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Winthrop Coliseum. The evening begins with a mobile bidding silent auction along the concourse of the Coliseum followed by dinner and the live auction on the Coliseum floor. Last year, more than $150,000 was raised toward student-athlete scholarships! Tables are $750 (10 seats) and tickets are $75 per person. If you are interested in donating items to the auction, contact Taryn Moreno at 803/323-3067. All proceeds go toward student-athlete scholarships.

Triangle Alumni Chapter Baseball Event

The Triangle Alumni Chapter will host Winthrop Night as the Durham Bulls take on the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs on Friday, April 20, at 7:05 p.m. Winthrop alumni, wear your garnet and gold! Women’s Soccer Alumnae Weekend

The women's soccer team will host an alumnae weekend on Eagle Field on Saturday, April 21. All Winthrop alumnae soccer players and their families are invited! The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a women’s soccer alumnae game (alumnae vs. alumnae) followed by a cookout at noon. Later in the evening, attendees will gather for Come-See-Me festivities. All alumnae who participate in the game will receive a free T-shirt. To reserve your spot, please e-mail Women’s Soccer Coach Spencer Smith by Tuesday, April 10.

Winthrop Night with the Charlotte Knights

Come out to the ball game as the Charlotte Knights take on the Norfolk Tides on Friday, April 27, at BB&T Ballpark. The game begins at 7:04 p.m. with fireworks following the last inning. Special seating and discounted tickets are available for alumni, and family and guests are welcome to attend. Please contact the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at 803/323-2145 with questions.

Instructions to purchase discounted tickets:

  • Access the ticket website.
  • Use the seating chart to select the seats you wish to purchase.
  • Once you have chosen your seats, scroll to the top right and click “Checkout.”
  • The next page provides a confirmation of your selected seats and applies the discount. Tickets should be $17 each.
  • If your order is correct, click “Proceed to Checkout."
  • Select your ticket delivery method (Print-at-Home, Mobile Display, Will Call), click "Proceed to Checkout," and enter your billing and payment information.
