Legacy Photo Booths at Summer Orientation

The Winthrop Alumni Association recognizes a legacy student is a child, grandchild, or sibling of a Winthrop alumnus/a who is seeking an undergraduate degree at Winthrop. Legacy students and their families are invited to the Bookstore Commons located in the DiGiorgio Campus Center from 7:30 -9:45 a.m. for a legacy family photo opportunity during summer orientation. Stop by to take a fun photo and chat with alumni staff before the orientation welcome begins at 10 a.m. We look forward to seeing all legacy students and alumni soon!

Join the Columbia Alumni Chapter at the Soda City Market on Sat. June 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring your family and friends to this fun event featuring 150 vendors. Enjoy food, unique market vendors and music while hanging out with local alumni. Be sure to wear garnet and gold for a chapter picture at the steps of the State House at 11:30 a.m. Admission and parking is free. To see more information please visit the Soda City Market website. Hosted by the Student Alumni Council on the first day of fall semester classes. This interactive event introduces all incoming students to the treasures and traditions of Winthrop. Each student receives The Garnet and Gold book, which outlines the university’s history and traditions. Help us carry on Winthrop’s history by sharing The Garnet and Gold book.

Students are invited to the Winthrop Bookstore where they receive information about alumni benefits and purchase class rings, graduation announcements and regalia. Many campus departments make this event a success each semester by providing graduates the opportunity to discuss their remaining degree requirements, learn what campus services and benefits that are offered by: the Center for Career and Civic Engagement, Recreational Services, Eagle Club, Computing and Information Technology, Annual Giving, Graduate School, Records & Registration, Student Financial Services and the Winthrop Bookstore.

If your class year ends in a ‘4 or ‘9 you are celebrating a milestone reunion year! We look forward to seeing you at the Alumni Reunion and Awards Luncheon on Sat. Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. in McBryde Hall. This event brings a sense of holiday cheer to the campus’s community as students, alumni, faculty/staff and community members enjoy this annual tradition. All are invited to enjoy cookies, hot cocoa and hot apple cider as we prepare to light the Magnolia tree. Be ready for a night of fun as this event kicks off the ChristmasVille Parade that will begin at 6:30 p.m.
