Resource Center for Adult Students

Welcome

Welcome to Winthrop University! Every student's path to Winthrop is unique, and we're glad you found your way to our campus.

Summer Services

The Resource Center for Adult Students will be open during the summer.  Please check our monthly calendar for important dates and office hours.

Whether enrolled in summer classes, taking a break between semesters, or a new or prospective student, our staff would be happy to speak with you to answer any questions you may have.  Please contact our office!

Transfer Orientation

All incoming transfer and post-traditional students should plan on attending a "Transfer Orientation" session hosted by the Office of New Student and Family Programs.  During these sessions, you'll have a chance to meet our Transfer Orientation Leaders, be advised, register for classes and more!  You must register in advance to attend a session, and a link to do so should be available on your new student checklist.  If you have any questions regarding the Orientation Sessions, please contact the Office of New Student and Family Programs at 803/323-2387.

August Events for New Students

The Resource Center for Adult Students hosts a variety of events for our new transfer, veteran, and post-traditional students at the start of the Fall semester.  We would encourage you to join us any and all of the events designed specifically for you.  View our Transfer & Post-Traditional Student Brochure (pdf - 380 kb) or learn more here on this site.

Transition to Winthrop Workshops

Join us for a variety of workshops on Friday, August 21, 2015, designed to introduce you to all the resources at Winthrop!  As a transfer and/or post-traditional student, you may find many aspects of the college environment already familiar.  However, Winthrop University is a new institution with new expectations and procedures, new academic requirements, and exciting new challenges.  Your attendance will be a valuable investment in your future college career.  View a full schedule and workshop schedules and register to attend!

Required and Optional Events for New Transfer and Post-Traditional Students

The Resource Center for Adult Students hosts a variety of events as part of Welcome Week!  Many are optional, but all new transfer and post-traditional students should plan to attend a day of required events on Monday, August 24, 2015.  You'll receive an event listing when you attend Orientation or it's available now on our website!
