Winthrop Admissions Counselor: Ty RobbinsMy name is Ty Robbins and I am one of the Admissions Counselors here at Winthrop University.  Originally from Easley, South Carolina, I graduated from D.W. Daniel High School in 2014 and Winthrop University in the winter of 2017. As a Winthrop University student, I studied Environmental Science and Geology and fell in love with Winthrop's campus, community, and culture.

Winthrop University made me feel at home and helped me learn and grow every step of my student experience. I was given the opportunity to conduct independent research on Paleontology, complete an internship with the Walt Disney Company, and take classes that challenged the conventional college course such as Model UN. Whether you are interested in diving deep into research, delving into a new language, or just learning how to Scuba dive, Winthrop University can offer all that and more!

I initially chose Winthrop University for its size, beauty, and the cheerful and helpful faculty.  There are many more great reasons to choose Winthrop University as your campus.  I hope that you will visit and learn more about the many opportunities available to you.  My advice to any potential student is to ask questions and think thoroughly about your college options.  Choosing and preparing for college can be difficult, but I am here to help every step of the way!  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at I look forward to seeing you on campus.  Go Eagles!
