My name is Jasmine John, I am a Junior from Lino Lakes, Minnesota. I am majoring
in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics. I have been working
on campus for the Office of Admissions since my freshman year. I am currently involved
in the College of Business Advisor Board, as well as the Mentoring Business Minds
program. Last semester, I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland through Winthrop's study
abroad program.
One reason that I chose Winthrop was because of the welcoming and supportive environment and location. I loved that Winthrop was located in a smaller city while being close to Charlotte. Being near Charlotte allows for great networking opportunities, fun activities and convenient access to an airport - which for an out-of-state student is great.!
Another reason that I was drawn to Winthrop was the small class sizes. When I visited Winthrop as a senior in high school, I met some of the professors in the College of Business, and was excited by the passion each of them had for their areas. At Winthrop, all the faculty and staff go above and beyond to get to know their students. Making personal connections with professors has enriched my learning experience and helped me excel in my academic endeavors. The College of Business does a great job helping students network and start planning for life after graduation.
