What makes Winthrop special to you?

Winthrop is special to me because it is truly an environment where faculty and staff members truly care about their students. They want to see them succeed and will do all that is in their power to help students in the classroom and out. It’s just a matter of the student reaching out for the opportunities already there.

What is your favorite local restaurant in Rock Hill?

It’s hard to narrow down but one of my favorite restaurants in Rock Hill is Millstone Pizza. It’s brick oven style, fresh ingredients, and they have great specials throughout the week.

What is your favorite thing about Rock Hill?

Rock Hill is great because it’s just right, not too big and not too small and it reminds me a lot of my hometown in Columbia, SC. The area is big enough that there is something always going on, but small enough to still feel comfortable in a suburb environment.

What advice do you have for students during their search process?

My advice would be to narrow down your options into three categories, educational quality, cost and affordability, and college fit specifically in that order. Consider the type of education you’ll get at the school, the relationships professors have with their students, the opportunities for internships and research. Weigh the programs out and then think of how you can afford it realistically. Finally and importantly lastly, think of all the typical college factors. The dorms, the food, things to do, etc. This should be last because you don’t go to college to sleep, eat, and so on. You go to get an education and everything else should come after.

What is your Favorite Movie or Performer?

Love with all my heart, the amazing and talented, Ariana Grande. She’s just everything.

What are your hobbies?

Binge watching my favorite TV shows over and over is something I do a lot in my free time. I’m weird because you’d think I would’ve never seen the shows because I’m laughing or distraught by the drama but 7/10 I know the episode almost word for word.
