What do you love about Winthrop?
I think what I love most about Winthrop is the genuine feeling of family. Winthrop
is truly a place of inclusion. As a staff member, I felt appreciated for who I am
and what I value the moment I started in the Office of Admissions. Winthrop celebrates
and uplifts each student individually, while also fostering an environment that makes
us all feel that we’re in this together. It feels amazing to advocate for an institution
that puts inclusion and community at the forefront.
What is your favorite local restaurant in Rock Hill?
I have a few favorites, but I’m a big pizza person, so I love Millstone Pizza and
Taproom. Also, if you’re a brunch lover like me, you have to check out Flipside! The
best part? These restaurants are right next to each other in downtown Rock Hill!
What is your favorite thing about Rock Hill?
My favorite thing about Rock Hill is how much it’s grown and continuing to grow! You
get the best of both worlds – There’s plenty to do (and more coming our way), but
you still get that comforting small town feel.
What advice do you have for students during their search process?
Visit! There is no better way to know if a school is the right fit for you than to
visit campus and picture yourself living and making memories there for four years.
That, and ask questions! No question is too big or too small, and you want to make
sure that you feel confident and excited about where you’re going.
Favorite Food? Pizza - and I'm Team Pineapple!
Favorite Movie or Performer? Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Inception, Get Out, Moana, Booksmart, and you will always
find me glued to the screen during a Harry Potter movie marathon.
Favorite Hobbies? Hiking, going to live music shows, exploring new places, and currently learning
how to juggle and how to play the ukulele!
