The Graduate School at Winthrop University

The Graduate School at Winthrop supports the professional and academic development of our students in over 50 different graduate programs of study.  Whether in business, education, science, or the arts, graduate students at Winthrop experience the advantages of a nationally recognized teaching university—collegial classroom settings, mentor relationships with faculty, and opportunities for collaborative research.

Winthrop’s location in the upstate of South Carolina offers many advantages as well.  Located just twenty minutes from Charlotte, NC and only an hour from Columbia, SC, Winthrop graduate students benefit from the professional and cultural offerings of multiple communities in both states. In addition, because of our close proximity to Charlotte, we are part of the Charlotte Regional Partnership and are thus able to offer in-state tuition to residents of 12 North Carolina counties.
