RecycleMania 2014

The Office of Sustainability is supporting a RecycleMania 2014 tournament. Any time this month or March, departments are encouraged to promote waste reduction activities and participate in university recycling initiatives.

Suggested ideas include:

  • Plan an office clean out party
  • Reorganize recycling collection station with signage
  • Add recycling containers for collecting toner/ink cartridges
  • Conduct a waste audit of your office

For more information contact sustainability coordinator Chris Johnson '99 at johnsonc@winthrop.edu or call him 803/323-2389.

University College Introduces Initiative to Identify At-Risk Students

Winthrop provides a variety of resources to help students who are deemed academically at risk.

Faculty and staff members should use their own discretion, but if one of their students' attendance, class performance and/or classroom behavior is putting them at risk, they should e-mail atrisk@winthrop.edu. Their needs will then be assessed to determine the proper resources.

Any freshman who misses a couple of ACAD classes in their first three weeks should also be referred.
