Summer is here, and it is time to update Web sites for the upcoming year. The past year was a big challenge as we continued to roll pages over into the new template. Fortunately, there will be no major design change this year, but there are updates that must be implemented on your sites this summer.

You may recall the information I sent earlier in the year about section 508. The S.C. Budget and Control Board issued a compliance letter stating that all state and government agencies must begin to transition their Web sites to meet section 508 accessibility standards. University Relations, IT, and Services for Students with Disabilities have been working to troubleshoot areas of possible violation on the Winthrop site by working with students who use assistive technology. The help has been invaluable, but your assistance is required as well.
