Main Campus
Winthrop University is located in the city of Rock Hill, South Carolina in the northern part of the state - just 23 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina.

From Southbound I-77:
Proceed to Exit 79 (Dave Lyle Boulevard/S.C. 122). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right.  At the seventh traffic light, turn left onto Main Street.  At the first traffic light turn left onto Oakland Avenue.  Within one mile you will begin to see Winthrop’s campus on the left and right.  The main entrance of campus is to the left, at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Eden Terrace.   Turn left onto central campus.

From Northbound I-77:
Proceed to Exit 79 (Dave Lyle Boulevard/S.C. 122). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left.  Follow instructions above.

From Southbound I-85:
In Charlotte, N.C., take I-77 south to Rock Hill. Follow southbound I-77 directions above.

From Northbound I-85:
Proceed to Exit 102 (Earl). Turn right onto S.C. Highway 198, then left onto S.C. 5, continuing to Rock Hill.  In Rock Hill, turn left onto Cherry Road (S.C. 322).  Travel 8 miles to Oakland Avenue.  Turn right.  The main entrance to the campus is on your right. Turn right onto central campus.

From Charlotte/Douglas International Airport:
Follow Billy Graham Parkway to I-77 south. Follow southbound I-77 directions above.

From S.C. Route 72:
Turn left onto S.C. Route 901 (Heckle Bypass). Proceed to S.C. 322 (Cherry Road). Turn right and travel approximately 2 miles to Oakland Avenue. Turn right on Oakland Avenue and the main entrance to campus is on your right at the first light.

MUSIC - Conservatory of Music/Barnes Recital Hall (#19 on Campus Map) and
             Byrnes Auditorium (#2 on Campus Map)
Entering the main entrance of Winthrop University. 
You will see Byrnes Auditorium immediately in front of you as you enter the main campus. 
At the yield sign bear to the right.
The Conservatory of Music is on the left behind Byrnes Auditorium.
Barnes Recital Hall is located on the first floor of the Conservatory of Music.
Parking for Department of Music is available around the perimeter of the Conservatory of Music building. 
For evening events, parking spaces labeled Faculty/Staff (F/S) can be used by visitors after 4 p.m. (or as stated on the F/S sign).

MUSIC - Tillman Auditorium (#5 on Campus Map)
Event in Tillman Auditorium - after entering the main entrance of the Winthrop campus, turn left at the yield sign.  On the right, pass by the buildings Bancroft and Margaret Nance. 
The next building is Tillman Hall. 
Visitor parking is designated by the green paint on parking spaces in front of Tillman Hall and on the curved drive that leads from Tillman Hall back to Oakland Avenue.
Tillman Auditorium is located on the 2nd floor of Tillman Hall.

DESIGN - 3rd floor McLaurin Hall (#6 on Campus Map)
Enter the main entrance of Winthrop University. 
Turn left at the yield sign. 
On the right, pass by the buildings Bancroft, Margaret Nance, and Tillman Hall (clock tower).
Visitor parking is designated by the green painted parking spaces in front of Tillman Hall and on the curved drive that leads from Tillman back to Oakland Avenue.
After 4 p.m. the faculty/staff parking spaces in front of McLaurin Hall become open parking.
The Lewandowski Student Gallery is located in McLaurin Hall and there is an additional gallery on the 3rd floor of McLaurin

FINE ARTS - 1st floor McLaurin Hall (#6 on Campus Map)
Enter the main entrance of Winthrop University. 
Turn left at the yield sign. 
On the right, pass by the buildings Bancroft, Margaret Nance, and Tillman Hall (clock tower).
Visitor parking is designated by the green painted parking spaces in front of Tillman Hall and on the curved drive that leads from Tillman back to Oakland Avenue.
After 4 p.m. the faculty/staff parking spaces in front of McLaurin Hall become open parking.
The Lewandowski Student Gallery is located in McLaurin Hall and there is an additional gallery on the 3rd floor of McLaurin

WINTHROP UNIVERSITY GALLERIES - Rutledge Building (#8 on Campus Map)
Enter the main entrance of Winthrop University, turn left at the yield sign. 
On the right, pass by the buildings Bancroft, Margaret Nance, Tillman Hall (clock tower), and McLaurin Hall. 
The Winthrop Galleries are located in the Rutledge Building which is the next building on the right after McLaurin Hall. 
Visitor parking is designated by the green paint on parking spaces in front of Tillman Hall and on the curved drive that leads from Tillman back to Oakland Avenue.
After 4 p.m. the faculty staff parking spaces outside McLaurin and Rutledge are open parking.
The Rutledge Gallery and Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery are located on the first and second floors of Rutledge Building.
The Lewandowski Student Gallery is located in McLaurin Hall and there is an additional gallery on the 3rd floor of McLaurin Hall - the building to the right of Rutledge. (See directions for Art & Design – McLaurin Hall)

THEATRE AND DANCE - Johnson Hall (#10 on Campus Map)
Entering the main entrance of Winthrop University.  Turn left at the yield sign. 
On the right, pass by the buildings Bancroft, Margaret Nance, Tillman (clock tower), McLaurin, and Rutledge.  Continue around the sharp curve to the right and pass by the side of Rutledge and Roddey Apartments.
Johnson Hall is the next building on the right.
Continue around another sharp curve to the right and then turn right into the Johnson parking lot.
