"The process of studying abroad has helped me learn more about myself through learning about others.  Arriving in Australia was amazing, and during the first week I learned to surf, went on a bush hike, and had an authentic Australian BBQ.  Though the first week was wonderful the next brought headache.  The classes that I had approved were not what I needed to take and I was worried about being deported.  The thing I learned most was 'no worries.'  Everything works out for the better.  The classes I am taking are wonderful, the people I have met in my dance classes are so helpful, and I may even have an internship for the second half of the semester.  My trip to Australia has been a valuable college experience."

"While driving to San Rafael, we met these children. Kat had given one small boy a bouncy ball, and then out of nowhere many more children found us. It was saddening to see where these children lived each day. Their houses were made out of slivers of palm tree trunks. The houses were no larger than 12 feet by 12 feet, and there were dirt floors. The kids though were so full of life, and they definitely touched my heart."
