I.  Welcome
    
-Dr. Jeannie Woods, VPA Associate Dean for Dean Andrew Svedlow 

II.  Approval of Minutes from February 22nd meeting

III.  Department Reports
     
-VPA Student Services, Kimberly R. Wright
        -Graduate Commencement Ceremony - Thursday, May 2nd - Tillman Hall - 
          -VPA graduate advisors, graduate director (Don Rogers), and deans expected to attend
            -other VPA faculty and departmental chairs are asked to attend
            -there will be a hooding ceremony at the Graduate Reception
        -Graduation Reception - Saturday, May 4th - Johnson Lobby
            -any faculty or staff wishing to assist in set-up, serving, or clean-up, 
             please contact Marge Moody (x2666), Kimberly Wright (x2465), or Jamie Larsen (x2323)

III.  New Business
      
- changes to VPA by-laws and the tenure/promotion guidelines
          -one change noted - On tenure/promotion guidelines "Note" at end of first paragraph 
           "is" changed to "will be"

- General Education info
      
    -Seymour Simmons and Paul Martyka
          -VPA Faculty urged to attend the called University Faculty Assembly meeting on General Education at 3 p.m.
          -The proposal to be voted on by the Faculty Assembly at 3 p.m. is the best option for VPA; Arts & Sciences may try to oppose the proposal

IV.  Report on NASM visit
      
-Don Rogers, Department of Music Chair
       -The Music Department feels that they did pretty good; there were some areas mentioned as needing attention but those were for the most part expected.
