A.  CVPA representatives or nominees for Winthrop University committees (for next academic year)
     
1.  Admissions Advisory - Kathy Kinsey, Music
           Standing Committee - 3-year term - must be tenured or tenure-track. [Replacing
Annie-Laurie Wheat who serves through spring
           2005]

      2.  Academic Council - Chad Dresbach, Art and Design

           3-year term - (this person will also serve on Financial Exigency). Administrative offices are ineligible to serve except as
           secretary, but department chairs are eligible to serve. A voting member may not serve more than two complete terms in
           succession. No person shall be eligible to serve as a voting member unless he/she has served 2 years as a faculty member
           immediately preceding service. 
[Replacing Paul Martyka; note that Shaun Cassidy and Bruce Thompson are in the middle of
           their terms, so they are already serving on the council]

      3.  Teacher Education - Terri Winchell, Theatre and Dance

           3-year term. [Replacing Kathy Kinsey; note that Danelle Smith is continuing on this committee to 2007].

V.  Curriculum actions - PASSED
A. 
Associate Dean Jeannie Woods presented one curriculum action for approval by the Faculty Assembly.  The assembly unanimously approved the proposed change (to crosslist ARTH 477, Women in Art, as WMST 477 so the class can be offered under the Women's Studies designator.

   A.  CVPA International Arts Task Force (by-law proposal) - PASSED
        1. CVPA Senior Management has approved
        2. Task Force is to assist in increasing CVPA's international involvement - study abroad; faculty exchange; trips

VIII.  Spotlight on Art & Design:  tribute to Leo Twiggs multimedia piece
   A. 
At this meeting of the CVPA Faculty Assembly, the original multimedia piece by Gerry Derksen (Art/Design) and Ron Parks
        (Music) was presented to the members of the faculty assembly.  This 10 minute visual collage was created to honor artist Leo
        Twiggs for the 2004 Medal of Honor in the Arts program.

A.  Resources for students with learning disabilities and medical conditions

The professional development presentation at this meeting was given by Gena Smith, Winthrop's Coordinator of Services for
     Students with Disabilities.  Ms. Smith provided information on how to define and accommodate disabilities and the services provided
     by her office.
