A.  Department of Music – Don Rogers
      
1. Jazz Ensemble will be attending the North Texas Jazz Festival
      2. Ten students were chosen to be members of the SC Honors Band at Furman University
      3. 
TIAA-CREF Jazz Festival (3 students selected)

B.  Department of Theatre and Dance – Andrew Vorder Bruegge 
     
1.  Theatre & Dance had a retreat last week
            a.  Discussed a cluster of important issues

      2.  Theatre & Dance students, faculty, and staff are attending festivals and conferences:
            a.  American College Dance Festival
            b.  Regional American College Theatre Festival
            c.  Theatre Tech National Conference
            d.  Southeastern Theatre Conference summer theatre jobs

            e.  Scholarship Auditions next weekend for Dean's Meritorious Scholarships
            f.  Create Carolina Arts Festival - Maymester
               1.  This Spring there is a pre-Maymester course to prepare for Create Carolina
               2.  This May, Create Carolina will have 2 productions and a class.
           g.  Two new faculty members:
                1. Zin Bronola, full-time accompanist
                2. Brenda Floyd, part-time faculty member and supervisor of the Costume Studio

All faculty members of the College of Visual and Performing Arts who hold membership in the Faculty Conference shall be members of the Faculty Assembly.  Membership in the Faculty Conference is extended to every person who holds rank as instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, or professor at Winthrop University, with the following exceptions: lecturers, adjunct faculty, and visiting faculty are not members of Faculty Conference. The eligibility of an individual who does not hold membership in the Faculty Conference shall be determined by the Faculty Assembly.
