Eligibility Information for Veteran Educational Benefit Programs
Montgomery GI Bill
This program provides educational benefits to individuals who first entered
active duty after June 30, 1985. The Montgomery GI Bill also includes a program for certain Reserve and National Guard participants. Detailed eligibility information can be found on the

Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance
This program provides educational assistance to children and spouses of veterans who are 1) permanently or totally disabled due to a service-related condition or 2) those who have died while on active duty as a result of a service related condition.

Vocational Rehabilitation
This program assists veterans with service-connected disabilities obtain training, such as a diploma from a two or four-year institution, to prepare them for suitable employment. Detailed eligibility information can be found on the Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Service web site.
Please Note: The Veteran Affairs Office at Winthrop
University serves as a liaison for the Department of Veteran Affairs and the
student. The VA Office at Winthrop has no authority to determine eligibility
for a particular VA educational program. ONLY the Department of Veteran Affairs
can determine eligibility.
