Dr. Fortner-Wood is the director of Winthrop’s Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program. The program prepares first generation, low-income, and underrepresented undergraduates to be successful in PhD programs by providing research and other opportunities, financial support, and admissions assistance. Fortner-Wood is grateful for the opportunity to help McNair Scholars achieve their post-baccalaureate aspirations individually and collectively. She also is proud of her involvement in Winthrop’s successful bids for U.S. Department of Education multi-year, renewable TRiO McNair (2009, 2012) and Student Support Services (2005, 2010) grants.
Fortner-Wood also is an Associate Professor of Psychology.
