RESOLUTION TO ADOPT WINTHROP UNIVERSITY’S
VISION OF DISTINCTION 2005-06
WHEREAS, Winthrop has
consistently followed a planning process set forth in the
Winthrop University Vision of Distinction that sets forth its
long-term goals, consistent with the values of the University,
to direct the allocation of resources into annual initiatives;
and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and necessary to revisit and review
such a document to ensure that it remains accurate and that it
properly reflects the progress made to date on its pronounced
goals; and
WHEREAS, the
Executive Officers and Executive Staff of the University have
reviewed the Vision of Distinction in order to update it and
ensure that it continues to represent an accurate and carefully
articulated plan of action to maintain and enhance the program
array, faculty and staff development, and technological
infrastructure that will best serve Winthrop’s needs; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees has
reviewed the proposed Vision’s goals and finds them to be both
appropriate and consistent with the goals and values defined in
the Strategic Plan,
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED
BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF WINTHROP UNIVERSITY that the
Winthrop University Vision of Distinction 2005—06 be adopted as
the annual work plan for the University.
