RESOLUTION TO APPROVE
GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the core curriculum embodied in
the new General Education program developed and recommended by
the faculty represents Winthrop University’s values and
beliefs which it wishes to transmit to the students with whom
we are entrusted; and
WHEREAS, the General Education curriculum
is central for, and of critical importance to, Winthrop’s
aspirations for distinction; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees applauds
the work of our faculty, reaffirms our belief in the
principles and objectives involved; and offers support for
implementation of the program;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of
Winthrop University that the General Education program
recommended by the Faculty Conference and the President is
hereby acknowledged and approved.
