Plaster cast reproduction of
Winged Victory
or Nike of
Samothrace
This
plaster reproduction from a copy of the Nike of
Samothrace was donated to Winthrop by the Latin
Department between 1906 and 1908. Also called the
"Goddess of Victory" or the "Winged Victory," the original
masterpiece of the Hellenistic Age is approximately 8 feet
high and dates to 190 B.C. It is now housed in the Louvre
in Paris.
