Emerging from a national United Way movement called Mobilization for America's Children, over 200 Success By 6 initiatives exist nationwide. In York County, Success By 6 is a catalyst for change, directing attention and resources to new collaborative projects that impact young children.

Success By 6 was established to ensure all children in York County enter school ready to be successful by focusing on the following:

Build Community Awareness and Understanding
Educate the community on the importance of early childhood development and school readiness.

Empower Parents and Caregivers
Enable parents and caregivers to have the knowledge, skills and resources needed to fulfill their role in successful parenting.

Improve Access to Health and Human Services
Facilitate collaboration among agencies and organizations to close gaps in services for young children.

Increase Quality Child Care Experiences
Provide leadership to direct resources so young children have access to developmentally appropriate, nurturing child care.
