Purpose of Organization:  To provide a support system for women of color.
Description of Organization:  Sistahs of Essence seeks to provide an encouraging and productive outlet for women of color by affording them the opportunity to participate in the social and cultural development of the Winthrop University cmapus as well as community service activities within the surrounding communities, consequently allowing them to experience personal growth through self-expression, examination and understanding.
Planned Projects/Events:  Volunteer as Mentors at Emette Scott for young ladies, Breast Cancer Awareness Program, Kinky, Kurly, Koily Hair Program, Psychology of Women Program, Community Service: Teen Night at A Place For Hope and Fish Fry with Turning Point Ministries to raise fund for the Breast Cancer Cure.
