Purpose of Organization:  To facilitate a greater degree of awareness in the pre-medical community present on Winthrop University's campus.  Members shall participate in community service, medical internships and co-ops, networking functions and lectures with physicians and healthcare speakers, as well as student professional development programming.
Description of Organization:  A nationally affiliated organization of over 68,000 pre-medical, medical, post-graduate and physicians for pre-medical students.  AMSA's mission is to increase awareness of Winthrop University medical students through our affiliation with AMSA as well as local area activities with local area hospitals, nonprofit organizations, volunteer programs and area physicians.
