Purpose of Organization:  To help prepare students for graduate school and give an inside view of working in a speech world.  A trip to the State Convention is planned and students have opportunities to meet health professionals.
Description of Organization:  NSSLHA is a national student organization for undergraduates studying human communication behavior. It is the only organization of its kind recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Currently, membership has surpassed 18,000 members in over 285 chapters. Winthrop's chapter is active in the community through their service projects. This chapter also works towards sending its members to the North Carolina and South Carolina Speech Language and Hearing Association's annual conventions. Dues are $45 per year, covering membership from January to December.
