Purpose of Organization:  The Winthrop Affiliate of the NCTE serves as a professional organization for future secondary or middle-level English teachers at Winthrop University. Members may be undergraduate or graduate MAT students.
Description of Organization:  The Council promotes the development of literacy, the use of language to construct personal and public worlds and to achieve full participation in society, through the learning and teaching of English and the related arts and sciences of language.
Planned Projects/Events:  Attendance at national convention in November, monthly professional development, service project
