Lifeguard

PURPOSE: To create and promote a positive interaction between Recreational Services and the campus community.

REPORTS TO: Program Director for Recreational Services and Facilities

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be currently enrolled as a full time student at Winthrop University and must hold a Lifeguard Certification.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To guard 1 pool on the Winthrop Campus (West Center Swimming Pool) during open recreation hours and special events.

• To provide a healthy, safe, clean environment for all patrons.

• General pool duties include tidying equipment, picking up trash, checking for hazards, and monitoring all pool activities.

• MUST HAVE CURRENT CERTIFICATION

SALARY: $7.00 an hour starting salary; semester appointment with option to continue during the summer; maximum 20 hours per week; early morning, daytime, nighttime and weekend hours.
