Chapter 5 ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES
Sec. 5-1. Adoption of state law.
All of the provisions and
requirements of the general law of the state relative to
alcoholic beverages, beer and wine, as contained in S.C. Code
1976, §§ 61-4-10--61-8-70, are hereby adopted and made a part
of this chapter to the same extent as if set out at length in
this section, insofar as such provisions can have application
within the city. It shall be unlawful for any person to
violate any provision of such state law within the city. (Code

Sec. 5-2. Display or consumption of beer or wine in public
place.
It shall be unlawful to openly
display or consume any beer or wine in or from any unsealed
container on any public street or sidewalk, in any public
parking area, or at any public gathering place, excepting
premises specifically licensed for public consumption of beer
or wine therein; provided that this charge shall not be
asserted when any other charge is made relating to or growing
out of consumption of beer, wine or whiskey. (Code 1981, §
