Orientation

• Create a greater understanding of the variety of behaviors confronting LGBT, (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender), students that may contribute to a hostile environment.
• Increase leadership ability through cultural sensitivity in providing a safer Winthrop community.
• Increase skills in addressing situations involving LGBT students.
• Increase understanding of the LGBT culture.
• Raise awareness of the stages of identity development for LGBT students and how that development impacts behavior.
