| Mission Statement Project REACH (Retention & Achievement) was established by Winthrop University as an initiative to improve retention of our undergraduate students. Currently, Winthrop has a six-year graduation rate of 58%. Although this figure is comparable to other similar institutions in the country, we believe strongly that this number can be increased with deliberate effort.
The mission of the Project REACH group is to enact specific, programmatic efforts that encourage and enable students to find their potential and reach their goals. Some attrition is unavoidable, however, in many cases attrition represents a missed opportunity for both students and the university.
