Fitness and Wellness
Your fitness and overall wellness is important and we want to be a part of your routine. Whether your routine includes group fitness or individual workouts, the Office of Recreational Services provides opportunities for the students, staff, and faculty of Winthrop University.
The Office of Recreational Services offers an array of exercise classes that fit all fitness levels such as Cardio Sculpt, Yoga, Aqua Tone, Turbo Kick, Zumba, Abs and much more. To participate in any of the fitness classes, show up at the scheduled class time and location ready to get fit.
For those who are just starting out and would like guidance for a workout routine that meets their fitness goals, the Office of Recreational Services offers a personal training program. There is no charge for a personal trainer; all you need to do is put your name on the training list and a personal trainer will be provided for you. When you are assigned a personal trainer, you are given four one-hour training sessions. Once your four sessions have expired, you can sign up for another trainer by adding your name to the training list again.
Incentive programs are offered to students, faculty, and staff throughout the school year to reward participants for their fitness accomplishments. Incentive programs can help you stay motivated for improving your wellness and keep you on track for healthy living. Programs run from four to five weeks in length. Rewards are given to those who complete each incentive program.
