Intramural Sports Weekly Recap

The Playoffs are here in volleyball as there will be a champion crowned on Thursday.  Going into the playoffs Boss 5 got a big win against Pike Black making themselves a contender for the championship. The Heisman continue to roll as they have yet to drop a set.  However, sand volleyball champions Pike Black will still be a legitimate threat to win it all. As for the women’s division, the cobras continued to play well and earned a first round bye in the playoffs. They will play the winner of WU Ladies vs.  Smokin Aces.  Both teams are exciting to watch and could give the Cobras trouble in the semi-finals.  The Hurricanes dropped their match to the WU Ladies this past week, but they are another team to watch out for coming out the bottom side of the bracket.

Co-rec basketball will be wrapping up this week and the playoffs will be starting after Thanksgiving.  In this past week’s action Monstars Green defeated the Cobra All-Stars in an exciting game.  The Cobra-All-Stars trailed throughout the game and found themselves down by 11 with fewer than 5 minutes to play. However, they mounted a furious comeback, but only to come up short missing a pair of 3 pointers as seconds ticked down that would have tied the game.  Monstars Green was led by Tony Scott and India Belton in their victory. In the other division, Monstars Orange and Team Swagg remained undefeated. This should be an exciting game when these two teams lock up in both their regular season’s final game on Thursday.
