Intramural Sports Supervisor

PURPOSE: To assist the Program Director for Intramural and Club Sports with intramural programs and create and promote a positive interaction between the Office of Recreational Services and the campus community.

REPORTS TO: Program Director for Intramural and Club Sports

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Must be a full-time student at Winthrop University
• Must have worked as an intramural official or program assistant for at least one semester
• Ability to train and evaluate officials
• Working knowledge of game rules in the sports of football, basketball, softball, volleyball and soccer
• Must be able to dedicate a minimum of 12 hours per week for the position
• Must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Supervise 20-25 intramural officials and 6-8 program assistants
• Coordinate select intramural sport leagues and special events
• Assist with training and evaluating student officials
• Conduct captain's meetings for your selected league sports
• Responsible for set-up and take down of all equipment on a nightly basis
• Assist with promoting upcoming intramural sporting events
• Assist with field preparation such as painting lines or chalking fields
• Supervise intramural events on a daily basis
• Assist with other events that the Office of Recreational Services provides

SALARY: $8.00 per hour
