The Office of Recreational Services, part of the Department of Student Affairs, offers spirited and competitive activities involving intramural and extramural sports, fitness activities, special events and aquatics. Over 500 activities are offered during the academic year, ranging from group fitness classes to swimming lessons to flag football leagues and tournaments.
All programming offered through Recreational Services is available to currently enrolled Winthrop students, as well as faculty and staff.
The Office of Recreational Services is a valuable resource for students, faculty and staff who wish to pursue a healthy lifestyle. Through participation in various programs, participants can gain a multitude of personal benefits including improved levels of physical fitness and wellness, opportunities for social interaction, time management skills, engagement in a group dynamic setting, a healthy means of stress relief, as well as the creation of a sense of ownership and belonging between students and the Winthrop community.
