Q. Can I petition to march across the stage if I have not completed all my requirements for graduation?
A. No, under no circumstance may you participate in the commencement ceremony if you have not completed all requirements.
Q. Do I have to have all of my cultural events completed to be cleared for graduation?
A. Absolutely. You will not be cleared for graduation nor will you be able to participate in the commencement ceremony if you have not completed ALL of your cultural events.
Q. Do I need tickets for my guests to attend the ceremony?
A. No, but due to space limitations in the Coliseum, we request that you limit the number of guests invited to six.
Q. What time do I need to be at the Coliseum to check in?
A. 10:00 a.m. Commencement Ceremony for the College of Visual and Performing Arts and from the College of Arts and Science
CHECK-IN: Degree candidates should report to the check-in area, located just inside the north entrance of the coliseum, in academic cap and gown between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.
3:00 p.m. Commencement Ceremony for the College of Business Administration and from the Richard W. Riley College of Education

Q. What is the address of the coliseum?
A. The address of the coliseum is 1162 Eden Terrace.
Q. May I wear regalia from a club or organization to the ceremony or decorate my cap?
A. All commencement participants must wear only appropriate academic regalia which is distributed to students through the campus bookstore. Graduates who are members of academic honor societies that are on the approved list (please see Academic Honor Societies allowed at Commencement List under Diploma and Regalia) may wear the society's cord or pin as part of their commencement regalia.
Q. Will I receive my diploma when I cross the stage?
A. No. You will receive your diploma in a designated room off the arena floor immediately after the ceremony.
Q. How will I know where to sit during the ceremony?
A. When you arrive, you will be given a card with your name and your place in line on it. You will be led to your seat by the student marshals; just follow the person in front of you.
Q. Where do I put my keys, purse, cell phone, etc.?
A. Leave anything that you can't put in your pockets in a secure place before you line up. There is nowhere to put them once you are in line. All cell phones should be turned off!
Q. If I am unable to participate in the commencement ceremony, how can I obtain my diploma?
A. All diplomas not picked up after the ceremony can be obtained in the Office of Records and Registration, Tillman 126 the following week. All diplomas not picked up two weeks after the ceremony will be mailed to the address on file in Wingspan. Make sure all mailing addresses are updated to avoid delay.
