If I have Wingspan login problems, what should I do?
Be sure NOT to double click. Double clicking logs you out of the Wingspan system.
Are you an AOL or Web TV user? These browsers are incompatible with the Wingspan system.
Check your browser version. Please use Internet Explorer version 5.5 or later or Netscape version 7.1 or later.
Do you have a download accelerator? If so, you will need to deactivate the accelerator when using Wingspan.
Are you accessing Wingspan through a firewall? Firewalls do not allow for the necessary communication between your computer and Wingspan.
Check your security settings. Check your cookie settings.
Internet Explorer users,
check your security settings by going to the Tools Menu, then Internet Options. Click on the Security tab.
Your Internet Zone should be set to Medium or Low, and your Trusted Sites setting should be set to Low.

check your cookie settings by going to the Edit Menu, then to Preferences. Choose the Advanced Category and set
your cookie preferences to "Accept all cookies" while using Wingspan.
What do I do if I do not know my PIN or password?
If you have never logged in to Wingspan, your PIN is your birthday in
MMDDYY
format. If you have forgotten your PIN, call Records & Registration at 803/323-2194 or go to Tillman 126.
If you login using your username and password (the same as your Winthrop email account), you may obtain password assistance from Technology Services at 803/323-4774.

When can I register?
Registration for Spring 2010 begins November 4 and continues through January 15, 2010. Undergraduates, check the
online Time Assignment Chart
for early registration details. Registration for Summer begins March 24 (for currently enrolled and readmitted students) and continues through the first or second day of class.
See the Summer Session calendar
for specific drop/add dates.
Where can I register?
You may use any computer that provides Internet access. You may use computers in the labs, your room, or at home. Kiosks are available in various locations across campus including Dinkins Student Union and Tillman Hall. We will also have terminals available in the Records and Registration Office, 126 Tillman Hall.
Can I change my schedule after I have it printed?
Yes, you may make changes to your schedule until the end of the add/drop period.
What if I miss my scheduled registration time?
If you miss your scheduled time, you may register any time after that time.
What if I do not get advised?
If you do not get advised, you will not be able to register. Your advisor must put a code into the computer verifying that you have been advised. You must meet with an advisor prior to your registration for fall or spring semesters. Advising is not required to register for summer session courses.
What if I need to get into a class and it is closed? How do I get an override?
You will need to get the permission of the appropriate Department Chair.
Download the "Schedule Change Form"
now (pdf file).
What if I need to take more than 18 credit hours?
If you have a cumulative 3.0 GPA at the end of the semester, you may register for up to 21 hours. If you do not have a 3.0, you must file an
undergraduate petition
(pdf file). Students who are in their last semester prior to graduation may obtain permission from their dean to overload.
What happens if I do not pay my bill by the due date?
All students must validate their schedule through the
Cashier's office
even if there is a zero balance. Some arrangements for billing must be made or your schedule will be dropped.
