The positive recognition keeps coming in for Winthrop during this busy season of college rankings! I'm happy to say that our commitment to academic quality, overall value, and return on investment continues to draw the attention of third-parties. They, in turn, help us reach more and more students interested in the kind of educational experience our university offers.
Just this week, Winthrop again ranked among the South’s top 10 public universities that offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the 2014 U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Colleges" edition. This marks the 22nd year that the magazine has included Winthrop in its list of top institutions.
Other recent recognitions fill me with pride as well:
- Washington Monthly named Winthrop one of America's "Best Bang for the Buck Colleges" in its 2013 College Guide Rankings edition.
- The Princeton Review listed the university once again among the "Best in the Southeast."
- The College Database placed Winthrop in the top five schools in the Palmetto State for future military service members.
- AffordableCollegesOnline.org identified Winthrop as one of the top five South Carolina public universities with the greatest lifetime return on investment. Our strong record across many indicators reflects that we are succeeding at providing the quality of a private university education at a public university price. Our priority now is to build on our success to address issues of access, attainment, affordability and accountability, so that the top-notch education a Winthrop degree signifies will be possible for even more students.
Thank you in advance for your part in helping us reach our next goals.
