Lois Rhame West Health, Physical Education, and Wellness Center
The Lois Rhame West Center fulfills not only academic and recreational needs at Winthrop University, but also marks the first bold step in creating a new ambience for the western side of campus and the neighborhood beyond. Its placement at the southwestern corner of the present campus is a contribution to the City of Rock Hill's "Old Town" Renaissance initiative that envisions attracting private investment to help create a classic "college town" atmosphere around Winthrop, including a signature trolley line that will connect the Winthrop campus with downtown Rock Hill and eventual light rail service to Charlotte.
