Debra C. Boyd, Ph.D., is Winthrop University's Acting President and Provost. She was named Provost in 2013 and has served as Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2011. Named by the Board of Trustees to lead the university in June 2014, Dr. Boyd has a proven record of effective leadership and collaboration with colleagues across campus. She has said she is honored to take on the role of Acting President as Winthrop begins its next presidential search. Likewise, she feels privileged to stand with Winthrop’s dedicated faculty and staff to ensure that students remain the university’s highest priority and that they continue to receive an exemplary education.
