My Areas of Academic Interest

My main areas of interest are in Metaphysics and Epistemology.

I am particularly interested in the capacity of the rational mind for the grasp of reality, and in the logic of our conceptual representation of reality. I have further interests in the nature of consciousness, in the nature of human being generally, in the significance of religious experience, and in the nature and significance of beauty.

I have presented or published referreed papers on…

  • Cross-temporal causal relations
  • Indirect causation
  • Time-extended objects
  • Analysis of the concept of causality
  • Anti/realism with respect to the concept of object
  • Teaching antirealism at the introductory level
  • Pedagogy outside the classroom
