Transfer Orientation
Because the Office of New Student and Parent Programs understands that transfer students often have different needs, we offer two types of Transfer Orientation sessions to try to best serve all incoming students. You can choose the type of Orientation session that is right for you.
Transfer Orientation (Full Day Session)
The Full Day Transfer Orientation session is a one-day program beginning at 8 a.m. and ending around 5 p.m. The session includes experiences designed to allow students to learn about campus resources, complete course evaluations, meet with academic advisers and register for classes. Transfer Orientation Leaders and Adult Student Mentors are paired with groups of students to assist them with their transition to Winthrop University.
Advising/Registration Only
The Advising/Registration Only session is an opportunity for transfer students already familiar with Winthrop University to come to campus to be advised and register for classes for the fall semester. Students will also have the opportunity to complete various tasks that will help make their transition into the university community a smooth one.
Note: All admitted Non-Traditional Students (including Freshmen and five year re-admits) participate in one of the Transfer Orientation sessions. Additional information is enclosed with your letter of admission.
