How to Register for Orientation
Students
There are two methods to register for Orientation. Online registration is preferred.
- Register online for the most up-to-date session information. After you have successfully registered online, you will receive an e-mail confirmation.
- Contact the Office of New Student and Parent Programs at 803/323-2387 to make your reservation.
Any change made after your reservation is processed will result in a $10.00 service fee. This fee is non-refundable.
NOTE: If you are having difficulty accessing your Enrollment Checklist account, you will need to contact Winthrop IT HelpDesk at 803/323-2400 or via email at helpdesk@winthrop.edu.
Families
When your student registers for an Orientation session, he or she can register any family members wishing to attend the Family Orientation. Family Orientation is offered with all Orientation sessions EXCEPT Transfer Advising/Registration Only (May 28 and July 16).
Orientation Fees
Freshman Fee Information
A $145 Orientation fee will be charged to your account and is included in your fall semester tuition and fee bill. (Please do not mail the fee payment in advance.) This fee covers materials, programs, and services associated with Orientation, advising, and registration, as well as Welcome Week.
Transfer Fee Information
A $25 Orientation fee will be charged to your account and is included in your fall semester tuition and fee bill. (Please do not mail the fee payment in advance.) This fee covers materials, programs, and services associated with Orientation, advising, and registration, as well as Welcome Week.
Family Fee Information
Like the Student Orientation, there will be a fee to cover the cost of materials and lunch. When you register for Family Orientation a separate fee will be charged to the student's account. The Freshmen Family Orientation fee is $15. The Transfer Family Orientation fee is $10 for adults.
NOTE: This fee is non-refundable. Family Orientation fees will be charged to the STUDENT ACCOUNT. Please DO NOT send checks.

Registration for each session will close at 5 p.m. on the following dates.
2013 Freshmen Orientation
Session I (June 17-18): Wednesday, June 12
Session II (June 20-21): Monday, June 17
Session III (June 24-25): Wednesday, June 19
Session IV (June 27-28): Monday, June 24
2013 Transfer Orientation (Full Day Session)
May 30: Friday, May 23
July 18: Friday, July 12
August 1: Monday, July 26
2013 Transfer Advising/Registration Only
May 28: Wednesday, May 21
July 16: Wednesday, July 10
2013 Fall Orientation
Freshmen (August 14-15): Friday, August 9
Transfer (August 14): Friday, August 9
