Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition-CADE Accredited Didactic
Program in Dietetics Students completing this program meet or exceed the
minimum academic requirements of the American Dietetic Association (ADA). They will
be prepared to work as entry-level dietitians after
successfully completing an accredited internship
and the national credentialing examination for Registered Dietitians.
Accreditation Status
The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) at Winthrop University
is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for
Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association, 120 South Riverside Drive,

The
Commission on Accreditation for
Dietetics Education is the American Dietetic
Association's accrediting agency for education programs
preparing students for careers as registered
dietitians or dietetics technicians.
CADE exists to serve the public by
establishing and enforcing eligibility
requirements and accreditation standards that ensure the
quality and continued improvement of nutrition and dietetics
education programs. Programs meeting those standards are accredited
by CADE.
CADE is recognized by the
United States Department of Education (USDE) and the
Council for Higher Education
Accreditation (CHEA). This affirms that CADE meets
national standards and is a reliable authority on the quality of
nutrition and dietetics education
programs.
ADA Didactic Program in Dietetics verification from Winthrop University
requires completion of the B.S. degree in Human Nutrition with a minimum grade of C and a
grade point average greater than or equal to 2.5 in all NUTR courses.

foreign language at or above the second semester college
level. This requirement may be met by a satisfactory
score on a recognized proficiency examination or by passing
any foreign language course numbered 102 or any course with
102 as a prerequisite. A maximum of 3 semester hours may
be applied to the Logic/Language/Semiotics
Area.
