Human Resource Management Course Offered at Winthrop This September
ROCK HILL, S.C. - ROCK HILL, S.C. – Classes begin Sept. 16 at Winthrop University for those interested in pursuing a certificate in professional human resource management.
The 33-hour course is sanctioned by the Society for Human Resource
Management as preparation for the Professional in Human Resource
exam and the Senior Professional in Human Resource exam.
Those interested in taking the course include professionals who seek
a broad overview of human resource management and individuals
preparing for human resources certification exams. The passage rate
for those taking the Winthrop course, offered through the
Institute
of Management, in 2007 was higher than the national rate.
Classes will be held on campus every Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
through Nov. 25 in the Thurmond Building, which houses the College
of Business Administration. The course covers the six functional
areas of human resource management: strategic management, work force
planning and employment, human resource development, total rewards,
employee and labor relations, and risk management. Instructors are
human resource professionals and faculty members who teach human
resource management.
The course costs $845, which includes textbooks, tuition,
interactive CD-ROM and comprehensive exam review. For more
