V-Day Rock Hill 2010 to Host Benefit ''Vagina Monologues'' Production Feb. 13

ROCK HILL, S.C. - As part of a local effort to stop violence against women, V-Day Rock Hill 2010 will present Eve Ensler's episodic play "The Vagina Monologues" with Ramona Holloway and Sharon Decker of WLNK 107.9 in February.

The production which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, in Tillman Auditorium, will benefit Safe Passage of Rock Hill, a program that offers services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual trauma and child abuse.

Sponsored locally by The Edge Theatre Company, Chickaspeare and Winthrop's Women's Studies Program, V-Day Rock Hill is part of the non-profit global V-Day movement to end violence against women and girls. Ensler, an author, playwright and women's activist, created V-Day in the late 1990s.

"The Vagina Monologues" begins at 8 p.m., and show tickets are $5 with Winthrop I.D. and $10 for the general public. The play contains adult content.
