ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop students voted junior Erin Blake as Homecoming Queen and junior Standrick J. Rhodes as Homecoming King during the week’s Homecoming festivities. The two were crowned at halftime on Saturday, Feb. 11, during the men’s basketball game against Radford University.
A Charleston, S.C., resident, Blake is majoring in psychology. Rhodes is from Greenville, S.C., and is majoring in special education. Both were sponsored by Association of Ebonites.
The runner-up for queen was Shenika Jones, a senior physical education major from Dillon, S.C., sponsored by the Collegiate Women for Christ. The runner-up for king was Billy Houston, a senior social work major from Fayetteville, N.C., sponsored by the Student Athletic Advisory Council.
Winners were selected in an online election by Winthrop’s student body.
