ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop’s Department of Theatre and Dance will offer the Shakespearean comedy "Much Ado About Nothing" from April 5-9.
A favorite of audiences for more than 400 years, the charming romance weaves together the story of two very different pairs of lovers. Claudio loves Hero, but he is quick to doubt her fidelity. Can true love win out? And Beatrice and Benedick delight in their “merry war,” indulging in sparkling wordplay and lovers’ games, but will Cupid catch them in their own snares?
The show, directed by Jeannie Woods, associate dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, will be held in Johnson Theatre at 8 p.m. from April 5-8 and at 2 p.m. on April 9. Tickets are $5 with a Winthrop I.D. and $10 for general admission.
