ROCK HILL, S.C. - The senior vice president of Maersk, Inc., will give Winthrop’s M.B.A. lecture on Oct. 3.
Following a 6 p.m. reception in the Frances May Barnes Recital Hall lobby, Robert Steen Kledal, senior vice president, area line and operations manager of Maersk, Inc., will give the lecture at 7 p.m. in the recital hall. The event is sponsored by the College of Business Administration.
Kledal’s career with Maersk began in 1990. He worked as the area line and operations manager of the Maersk China Shipping Co. Ltd. in Beijing, before moving to the United States to work for the North America Maersk Organization.
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Kledal graduated from Shippingskolen in Copenhagen and speaks English, German, Danish and Mandarin.
Maersk was founded in 1904. The international company operates in more than 125 countries and employs more than 110,000. In addition to owning one of the world’s largest shipping companies, Maersk also is involved in a wide range of activities within the energy, shipbuilding, retail and manufacturing industries.
