ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop University's College of Business Institute of Management will begin offering this spring an eight-month comprehensive certificate management program tailored to the work of not-for-profit organizations. The program is intended to upgrade skills in areas of financial accounting, budgeting and cash flow analysis, planning, marketing and fundraising, managing systems and managing people.
Students in the program will acquire an understanding of the laws governing not-for-profit organizations. This program teaches the fundamentals necessary for managing a not-for-profit organization and is intended for new senior-level and all mid-level managers working in non-profit management.
Successful participants in the program will receive a certificate of completion from Winthrop University Institute of Management.
Classes will alternate between the campuses of Winthrop and the University of South Carolina-Lancaster. Class sessions meet on selective Wednesdays beginning March 14 and ending Oct. 10.
The cost of the total program consisting of 45 hours of training is $360 for each participant. Participant fees have been kept low due to the financial support of the J. Marion Sims Foundation and the Sisters of Charity of South Carolina. Class size is limited to 25 participants.
