ROCK HILL, S.C. - Natalie Gann, a freshman at Winthrop University, placed as a finalist in the 29th Annual College Photography contest for Photographer's Forum. More than 3,000 students participated from the U.S., Canada, and around the world, with 1,600 high school and college students chosen as finalists.

Gann’s photograph was taken in Georgetown, S.C., in the yard of a historical museum by the river. She has taken three years of photo courses and plans to seek a degree in fine art photography. Her goal is to establish a self-managed photography business/studio.

"I have high hopes, but an even higher passion for my photography. I know that I am where I need to be and cannot wait to begin my photo courses next semester," said the Myrtle Beach, S.C., resident.

Gann plans to enter the Photographer's Forum college contest again this spring.
