Homecoming King and Queen during Homecoming festivities.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop University students voted seniors Juree Capers as Homecoming Queen and Trell Thomas as Homecoming King during Homecoming festivities. The two were crowned at halftime Saturday, March 1, during the men’s basketball game against UNC Asheville.
A Varnville, S.C., resident, Capers is majoring in psychology and political science. She volunteers with the Serving Others and Reflecting (S.O.A.R.) organization, Multicultural Student Council and Council of Student Leaders and is an Orientation assistant. Capers represented the Winthrop Ambassadors group.
Thomas of Cassatt, S.C., is majoring in mass communication. He is president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and vice president of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, which nominated him for the title.
Winners were selected in an online election by Winthrop’s student body.
